I have been using Auto Memory Manager(AMM) for quite some time now.
This app from Appslib and the Android Market has made my A5A quite stable.
It allows you to configure Android's built-in task manager.

==Memory Management Explained==

Android prioritises each process/app and when the available memory left is below a certain threshold then Android will start killing apps to free up memory and go above the low memory threshold.

There are 6 thresholds and AMM allows you to set these 6 thresholds via a simple interface.
